This classic, bold cocktail was recently developed by Joseph Cote, the renowned barkeep at The Mill on 7th in Lynden, Washington.

As a good friend of Doc’s, Joe had special access to a limited batch of barrel-aged Session Bourbon which added an additional layer of complexity and flavor to this concoction. But the purity of this drink lets the 90 proof blend of three different 5 year old bourbons shine through deliciously, whether the Session Bourbon is barrel-aged or not.

We recommend mixing a few of these up for a session with a couple buddies at the end of a long day…Doc’s Orders.

Recipe

  • 2 oz Session Bourbon

  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters

  • 4 dashes orange bitters

  • Serve in a rocks glass over a large cube
