One night at sea with whiskey, oysters and leaders making change.
Last month we partnered with our friends at Maritime Blue to provide whiskey for a remarkable evening during One Ocean Week in Seattle.
Aboard an historic and spectacular Norwegian tall ship, Doc’s served Electric Cowboy cocktails and straight pours of our whiskey alongside beautiful oysters from Taylor Shellfish Farms and an exceptional menu from Driftwood.
The dinner was attended by business, environmental, and political leaders from across the Pacific Northwest.
One Ocean Week Seattle:
One Ocean Week Seattle is a gathering of ocean leaders, innovators, researchers, startups, policymakers, artists, educators, and communities to accelerate solutions for a sustainable, inclusive maritime future.
Hosted by Washington Maritime Blue, the week features summits, cultural events, community activities, youth and workforce development programming, and global delegations – all with the aim of catalyzing the Blue Economy while leading on climate action, ecosystem health, and equity.
During this important week the One Ocean Expedition visited Seattle from October 22-27.
The historic tall ship Statsraad Lehmkuhl is circumnavigating the globe on a 12-month voyage aimed at raising awareness and sharing knowledge about the crucial importance of the ocean for a sustainable future on a global scale.
Because Doc Swinson’s is on a mission to celebrate curiosity in all forms, shining a light on curious people and organizations everywhere, when we learned about this curious and unique event from a long-time friend of Doc’s and one of the current Maritime Blue leaders Bjorn Thorpe, we knew we had to get involved.

And this year’s partnership was just the start. And just because we’re curious what impact a year at sea will have on our whiskey, we’re already exploring the idea of sending a cask of Doc’s along for the Statsraad Lehmkuhl’s circumnavigation of the globe next year.
