A Woody Masterpiece
The Barrel Lab at Doc Swinson's is filled with curiosity around every corner.
The month we were proud to welcome in our latest piece of artistic intrigue: a masterful chainsaw carving by the legendary Leigh Woody.
Just like Doc's use of aged wood of many kinds, where each barrel has it's own story and flavor, Leigh responds to what the wood gives her, planning the first few cuts and shifting as the limits and possibilities emerge.
Opening Curiosity
This chainsaw carving masterpiece is on display at the barrel lab.
Starting with a remarkable cedar log over 7 feet tall, her thoughtful vision for this sculpture took shape after being inspired by Doc's focus on curiosity and experimentation.
The books at the base represent a foundation of knowledge passed through generations.
The huge key represents the courage to try something new.
And the fox represents the sly craft of Doc's Master Blender.
We could not conceive a better representation of our Open Curiosity mindset.
